Elardo Young Artist Programs offers vocal, theatrical and linguistic training to over 100 young singers each year. Participants perform in fully staged operatic productions, vocal recitals and master classes and receive daily vocal lessons, repertoire coachings, language classes and managerial workshops.

The Elardo Young Artist Program offers participants the opportunity to train and perform with some of the top professionals in the operatic and musical theater field. Open to young professionals age 18 - 32, the program provides vocal, theatrical and linguistic training to 100 select singers, actors and dancers each year. Young Artists perform in staged Operatic and Musical Theater productions. Daily training consists of vocal lessons and coachings, dance, acting, master classes, language/diction study and managerial workshops, all in the stunning town of Brugge Belgium.

Performances:
Public performances are in integral part of the Elardo Young Artist Program and include recitals, staged opera and musical theatre productions, master classes and concerts. Opera and Musical Theatre productions will take place at the Stadsschouwburg Theater in the heart of Brugge.
Brugge:
The 2009 Intermezzo Music Festival will be held in the city of Brugge Belgium. Brugge is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO and is referred to as the "Venice of the North". With roots dating back to the Pre-Roman Gaul era, today Brugge is populara tourist attraction, filled with museums, theaters, historic buildings, modern hotels and nightlife.
Program Dates:
Arrival July 5 - Departure August 3.
Auditions:
Audition will be held in the United States in New York, Boston, Chicago. European Auditions will be held in Belgium in Brugge, Antwerp and Brussels. An accompanist is provided for all auditions.
- Opera Program Audition Requirements: 3 contrasting arias in at least 2 languages
- Musical Theater Audition Requirements: 2 contrasting songs, 1 short monologue, (no dance audition requires)

$35 Audition Fee US - 25 Euro Audition Fee Europe (Includes Accompanist):
- New York – February 23, 24 & March 9, 10
- Boston – February 25
- Chicago – February 26
- Brussels, Belgium – March 12
- Antwerp, Belgium – March 13
Acceptance:
All participants will be notified as to their acceptance no later than March 15, 2009.
Cost/Fees:
Tuition for the 2009 Elardo Young Artist Program has been significantly lowered form our 2008 program in an effort to allow young artists the opportunity to continue their training in difficult economic times.
- Audition Fee (accompanist provided): $35 US - 25 Euro Europe
- Tuition: $2750
- Housing Fee (including breakfast daily): Single Room $1250, Double Room $950
- Registration Fee (upon acceptance): $150
Payments & Schedule:
Payments can be made by check or credit card via PAYPAL. Payments must be made on time to ensure your position as a 2009 Young Artist. Tuition, housing and fees are non-refundable after April 1, 2009.
- April 1, 2009: Tuition Deposit and Registration Fee Due: $1150
- May 1, 2009: Tuition Payment Due: $1750
- June 1, 2009: Housing Payment Due: $950 (double room), $1250 (single room)
Housing & Meals:
Housing and meals are provided at the Spermalie http://spermalie.be. The Spermalie is a Hotel, Hospitality and Tourism training school in the heart of Brugge. Rooms are single and double occupancy in the Veste building, which provides Intermezzo with a private building for our participants. The Veste has a large lounge area and a bar that is open each evening. WiFi is provided free of charge throughout the building. The culinary aspects of the school provide for a very high quality of meals. Please look at the website provided above for an overview of the school and it's facilities.
